Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue their Gates of Jerusalem series (Nehemiah 3), remaining at the Pool of Bethesda near the Sheep Gate. From John 5 they examine the man infirm for 38 years whose hope rested in stirred water, human help, and being first. Jesus does not compete with the man’s coping systems or place him in the pool; He confronts the identity formed around the condition and commands, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” The hosts unpack autopilot compensation, the safety of familiar dysfunction, responsibility as the ability to respond, and the call to carry what once carried you—recognizing not the stirring of the water but the One who created it and now stands before it.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: Gates of Jerusalem Series, Pool of Bethesda, John 5, Stirring of the Waters, Identity Confrontation, Autopilot & Coping Mechanisms, Rise–Take–Walk, Responsibility as Ability to Respond, New Identity in Christ
