First Love Ep. 46 - Don't Watch The Water, Step Into It
Podcasts > First Love
Tuesday, July 28, 2026
Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue their series on the gates of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 3), focusing on the Sheep Gate as the place of surrendering the old life and the adjacent Pool of Bethesda as the necessary place of healing. They challenge the “get saved and serve” model, insisting healing must precede ministry so broken people do not wound others. Drawing from John 5, the five porches of grace, the man who waited 38 years, Psalm 23, and the bitter waters of Marah, they show that God must stir still waters to restore the soul. Believers often develop an identity around stagnation and protect the analysis of their pain instead of participating; true becoming is an ongoing process that requires surrendering both the condition and the story told about it.
Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas
Topics Covered: Gates of Jerusalem Series, Sheep Gate & Sacrifice, Pool of Bethesda Healing, Five Porches of Grace, Stirring the Waters, Surrender Before Service, Analysis Paralysis, Ongoing Becoming & Transformation
