First Love Ep. 48 - A New Walk, A New Way

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Nathan Kassas and Dr. Robyn Kassas bring their Pool of Bethesda series to a close. From John 5 they show that many entered the water yet were not healed—healing is ultimately about identity, not activity. Jesus did not wait for the water; He is the One who created and moves upon it. The man had to grow weary of the mat that had become his security blanket, then rise and walk in active faith. The hosts unpack neuroplasticity: renewing the mind is not receiving a new idea but deconstructing old pathways and repeatedly practicing agreement with truth until a new way becomes natural. Instant healing still required learning to walk; the testimony is not merely the old life dying but what Christ builds where it once lived. This is also their final Monday-night broadcast as they move to a new daily timeslot.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: Pool of Bethesda Conclusion, Identity vs. Activity, Security of the Mat, Active Faith & Walking, Neuroplasticity, Renewing the Mind, Testimony as What Christ Builds, Schedule Transition

First Love Ep. 47 - Healing Is About Identity

Tuesday, August 4, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue their Gates of Jerusalem series (Nehemiah 3), remaining at the Pool of Bethesda near the Sheep Gate. From John 5 they examine the man infirm for 38 years whose hope rested in stirred water, human help, and being first. Jesus does not compete with the man’s coping systems or place him in the pool; He confronts the identity formed around the condition and commands, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” The hosts unpack autopilot compensation, the safety of familiar dysfunction, responsibility as the ability to respond, and the call to carry what once carried you—recognizing not the stirring of the water but the One who created it and now stands before it.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: Gates of Jerusalem Series, Pool of Bethesda, John 5, Stirring of the Waters, Identity Confrontation, Autopilot & Coping Mechanisms, Rise–Take–Walk, Responsibility as Ability to Respond, New Identity in Christ

First Love Ep. 46 - Don't Watch The Water, Step Into It

Tuesday, July 28, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue their series on the gates of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 3), focusing on the Sheep Gate as the place of surrendering the old life and the adjacent Pool of Bethesda as the necessary place of healing. They challenge the “get saved and serve” model, insisting healing must precede ministry so broken people do not wound others. Drawing from John 5, the five porches of grace, the man who waited 38 years, Psalm 23, and the bitter waters of Marah, they show that God must stir still waters to restore the soul. Believers often develop an identity around stagnation and protect the analysis of their pain instead of participating; true becoming is an ongoing process that requires surrendering both the condition and the story told about it.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: Gates of Jerusalem Series, Sheep Gate & Sacrifice, Pool of Bethesda Healing, Five Porches of Grace, Stirring the Waters, Surrender Before Service, Analysis Paralysis, Ongoing Becoming & Transformation

First Love Ep. 45 - The Pool Of Bethesda: From Slaughter To Stirring

Tuesday, July 21, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue their series on the gates of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 3), focusing on the Sheep Gate as the vital first conversation with God. They correct the common misunderstanding of 2 Corinthians 5:17, explaining that we are not instantly “become new” but are continually becoming new—an ongoing process of transformation (present tense in the Greek).

The Sheep Gate represents surrender and sacrifice of the old life, leading to the Pool of Bethesda (House of Mercy) for healing the lingering effects of the old nature. Drawing on Psalm 23, neuroscience (neuroplasticity and renewing the mind), and the story in John 5, they emphasize that the Shepherd leads us beside still waters that must be stirred for restoration. True healing requires full surrender; God does not leave us empty but fills and restores us progressively through relationship.

First Love Ep. 44 - The Sheep Gate: Beginning The Journey Of Becoming

Tuesday, July 14, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue their series on the gates of Jerusalem from Nehemiah 3, finalizing the teaching on the Sheep Gate as the essential first conversation with God. They expose how believers often remove or skip these gates—just as Suleiman the Great did historically—because the Western gospel teaches that “all things have become new” instantly, allowing us to bypass the process. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:17, they clarify that we are not instantly “become new,” but are continually “becoming new” in quality as we live daily in Christ through the Lamb of God. The Sheep Gate reveals that entering God’s kingdom begins with sacrifice and allowing Jesus to come into us, not merely receiving Him from a distance; priesthood and true transformation start with the Lamb, not kingship or arrival. They show how this ongoing process of becoming restores hope and second chances, while warning that thinking we have already “arrived” causes us to stop needing relationship and stops our growth. This message calls listeners to stop skipping the conversations the Holy Spirit is highlighting and to walk through the Sheep Gate into the daily journey of becoming the finished work in Christ.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: The Gates of Jerusalem Series (Nehemiah 3), The Sheep Gate – Conversation of Sacrifice, Becoming New vs. Become New (2 Corinthians 5:17), Walking Through the Gate vs. Standing Outside, Western Mindset of Skipping Process, Suleiman the Great & Removed Gates Parallel, Priesthood Begins with Sacrifice Not Kingship, Being “In Christ” Through the Lamb of God, The Ongoing Process of Transformation & Daily Becoming, Hope, Second Chances & Training for Reigning, Eden – Fellowship Restored Through Sacrifice, When We Think We’ve Arrived We Stop Growing, Living in the Finished Work, Ambassadors of Reconciliation, From First Love to Mature Love Through Process

First Love Ep. 43 - The Sheep Gate: Transition To Transformation

Tuesday, July 7, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas launch their powerful new series on the 15 Gates of Jerusalem, beginning with the first gate—the Sheep Gate—as the essential transition into transformation. They teach on the vital difference between standing at the gate with information about Jesus and actually walking through Him into intimate, vulnerable relationship. Drawing from the historical and prophetic significance of the Sheep Gate, where sacrificial lambs entered near the Temple from the fields of Bethlehem, they reveal Jesus as the Lamb of God who calls believers to lay aside defensive “lion” natures, self-preservation, personal agendas, opinions, and character flaws. This transformative message explains why transition must precede transformation: every meaningful change requires passing through new thresholds as the survival brain is confronted with the call to surrender and become a living sacrifice. Grace always goes first—it is not what we offer God but receiving what He has already offered in the worthy Lamb. The cross is the door that moves us beyond religious performance, masks, and defense mechanisms into formation, trust, participation, identity change, and heart-level living. They call listeners to stop merely admiring the gate and instead walk through it, allowing the Holy Spirit to confront old nature and character so that first love can mature into full transformation with the One who is real, relevant, and relational.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: The 15 Gates of Jerusalem Series Launch, The Sheep Gate – Transition to Transformation, Jesus the Lamb of God vs. the Lion Nature, Surrender & Living Sacrifice, Walking Through the Gate vs. Observing From Outside, Grace Precedes Transformation, Defense Mechanisms, Self-Preservation & Character Flaws, Thresholds & Neural Pathways for Change, Intimacy Through Entrance Not Information, From First Love to Mature Love & Christ Formation, Real Relevant and Relational Jesus

First Love Ep. 42 - LIVE from Times Square

Wednesday, June 24, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas teach on the vital difference between knowing about God and Christianity versus truly knowing the real Jesus — and being fully known by Him. They explain why so many believers possess information about God yet lack the intimate relationship where Jesus touches the hidden, reserved places of the heart. Drawing from the humanity of Jesus who laid aside the full expression of His deity to walk as a man among us, and from Matthew 7:23 where He declares “I never knew you,” they reveal how the cross is not simply the forgiveness of sins but the door into a transformative journey — the first work of grace that opens the way to the second work of the Holy Spirit. This powerful teaching exposes the danger of living from religious information, performance, defense mechanisms, and masks instead of vulnerable, unfiltered relationship, and calls believers to stop merely admiring the door and instead walk through it into full transformation. They unpack how Jesus always initiates relationship, how true knowing produces formation, trust, participation, identity change, and heart living, and how God’s new mercies every morning — even neurologically offering 30,000 fresh chances daily through the brain’s rewiring — invite us into deeper maturity with the One who is real, relevant, and relational for New York City, America, and the world.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: Intimacy With Jesus vs Knowing About Him, Matthew 7:23 “I Never Knew You”, Jesus the Door (Dalit), First Work of Grace vs Second Work of Grace, Come As You Are But Leave As I Am, Relationship vs Information and Religion, Defense Mechanisms and Masks, New Mercies Every Morning & Brain Rewiring, Jesus Initiates Relationship, Vertical and Horizontal Cross, Real Relevant and Relational Jesus for NYC and America, From First Love to Mature Transformation

First Love Ep. 41 - Who Has Your Agreement: Jesus Or Yourself

Tuesday, June 16, 2026

Show Notes: In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas teach on the kingdom principle of one accord. They explain why true agreement must begin with heaven first — not with personal understanding or selfish desires. Drawing from the humanity of Jesus, who laid aside the full expression of His deity to stay in perfect agreement with the Father’s will, they reveal how self-agreement creates dangerous neural pathways that strengthen wrong expectations, dull spiritual senses, and turn desires into idols. This powerful teaching exposes the misuse of Scripture (such as Matthew 18) and calls believers to stop trying to get God to agree with them and instead align with what heaven is saying.

Hosts: Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas

Topics Covered: One Accord, Agree First Then Understand, Kingdom vs Worldly Agreement, Jesus’ Humanity Agreeing with the Father, Self-Agreement & Neural Pathways, The Danger of “Touch and Go” Agreement, Misuse of Matthew 18, Agreeing with Heaven Not Creations, Heart Mouth and Mind in Congruence, Handling Scripture Legally, Lucifer’s Fall as a Warning, Paying the Price for Wrong Agreement
