A Note from That KEVIN… 10.02.26
October has arrived, and this week’s edition gives us plenty of reasons to enjoy it. A little wonder in the city. A little autumn charm in Wisconsin. A place to rest and renew your spirit. And an opportunity to pack your bags and come see me in New York.
We begin on Fifth Avenue, where LUMINISCENCE at St. Patrick’s Cathedral brings light, music, and storytelling into one of Manhattan’s most beautiful spaces. I love the invitation to slow down and appreciate something we might otherwise hurry past. Then we head to Egg Harbor’s Pumpkin Patch Festival in Door County, October 10–11, for pumpkins, scarecrows, music, and the kind of small-town celebration that makes autumn feel like autumn.
Our third feature takes us to The Cove, the Billy Graham Training Center in Asheville, North Carolina. Sometimes the best reason to travel is to give yourself room to breathe, pray, and listen. We’re also highlighting an opportunity to win for your pastor and spouse. Think about the people who keep pouring themselves into your family and church. They need encouragement and rest, too.
And if New York has been on your wish list, enter the Terrific Talkers VIP Experience sweepstakes. Airfare, a three-night stay, a chance to meet me, and a custom tour of the Salem New York radio and television studios. I would love to welcome you here personally!
There are two terrific conversations waiting for you as well. Linda Perillo joins me for “Europe, Etiquette & Lobster Rolls,” with a thoughtful discussion about traveling through Europe, respecting local customs, and staying aware of your surroundings. Cristyne Nicholas and I explore “Taking Time to Appreciate Beauty in Our Surroundings,” including conversations about the Autumn Glow Festival and LUMINISCENCE. Beauty deserves our attention. This episode is a wonderful reminder to give it some.
Something especially close to my heart is now ready to share: the complete “Yesterday The Same” Worship Kit. Five versions and arrangements, four versions of sheet music, a small-group study, stems, and a sermon—all available free. Whether you lead worship, sing in a choir, play an instrument, pastor a church, or simply have a heart for worship, we made this offering for you.
I keep coming back to this: Jesus is our answer, and He never changes. That truth is too precious to keep hidden. This is God’s anthem; we are simply trying to be faithful stewards of it. We aren’t asking for a penny. Listen, download what you can use, and please forward the kit to your pastor or worship team. It is an offering of love from The TEA Collective, and my prayer is that it serves your church well.
Meanwhile, this week’s C’est Si Bon brings autumn right to your table with Classic Apple Crisp. Put on some coffee, invite someone over, and give yourselves permission to linger over dessert. A good evening doesn’t always require a plane ticket.
This weekend on Salem News Channel and BizTV, we’ve got Breaking News, Sketch Comedy, and Lady A in the #NewMusicSpotlight. Come spend part of your weekend with us!
And keep coming back to ThatKEVINShow.com for more great travel and food, my daily column, TV episodes, and the daily podcast of the radio show.
Thank you for making room for us in your week. I hope something in this edition gives you a reason to explore, a reason to smile, and a little encouragement to carry with you.
That KEVIN
