After weeks of rumors swirling about the prospect of an alternative Super Bowl halftime show between Forrest Frank partnering with Cory Asbury, together with Turning Point USA, it turns out that Asbury and Frank will not be part of it.

“I’ve been getting absolutely blown up about this Jesus Bowl '26 alternative halftime show idea,” Asbury said in his Instagram. “I’m getting tens of thousands of messages and comments. I love it, but I’m here to provide some clarity on this thing.”

For clarity’s sake, Asbury and Frank floated the idea of a faith-centered, Billy Graham-style “Jesus Bowl” halftime event last month, including the opportunity for attendees to step forward to receive Christ in their hearts. At the same time, Turning Point USA announced its own idea for an “alternative halftime show.” Therefore, many assumed these were one and the same projects.

“They announced their own show — no venue, no artists — but said, ‘Hey, we’re doing this,’” Asbury explained. “In the spirit of unity, Forrest and I jumped on a call with their team. But at the end of the day, the two visions are just incompatible.”

Therefore, with Frank and Asbury on their own, they put the call out to fans nationwide to help them find the venue, the help, and the opportunity to fulfill their vision of a halftime show where Jesus is at the center. Stay tuned for updates.
