The Discount Tuition Program began as an effort to provide affordable educational opportunities to families who desired to send their children to private schools throughout the listening areas of AM 570 & 102.3 FM WMCA. We know that parents make the decision to send their children to a private school for a number of reasons—some academic, some religious, and some practical. Whatever the reason, we also know how challenging it can be to provide this educational opportunity with the economic challenges many families are facing today.

Because of this need, we have sought out many of the best private schools in your area, and we've negotiated with them to provide tremendous discounts on tuition vouchers. In many cases, these are schools right in your own community. These schools wish to open doors with new students and new families who share their educational values.

We hope that you are able to locate a school in your community listed here on our site that fits your needs!

Requirements

The program is only for new students entering the school and is limited to one discounted tuition seat per family. Acceptance into the program is left up to each individual school. The program is for the student's first year only at the school.

Terms of Agreement 

Each tuition voucher is valid for the tuition cost for attendance at the specified school for the 2024-2025 school year (not including Summer School). All other costs of attending the school, including books and supplies, uniforms, and fees to participate in sports or events, are not covered by the voucher and are the responsibility of the student and his or her parent or guardian. Only one voucher per school may be purchased or used by a household or family. Each voucher may only be used by a new student not previously enrolled at the specified school. Purchase of a voucher does not guarantee admittance for a student to the specified school, and the student must meet all school admission, attendance, and conduct requirements to enroll and attend throughout the school year. The voucher is not transferable, non-refundable, non-cancellable and may be used only by a family or household member of the purchaser. The voucher is not returnable or redeemable for cash, except if a school confirms to WMCA that a prospective student with a voucher completed all application requirements but was not admitted to the school, in which case upon request by the voucher purchaser WMCA will refund the cost paid to WMCA for the voucher. The voucher purchaser should consult with his or her tax advisor concerning the tax treatment of payment of tuition using the voucher.

Kearny Christian Academy was founded in 1981, by the City of Hope International Church. Pastor Vincent B. Manzo (our principal) believed that God had something better for our children than what they were receiving in our schools. With only a handful of students, Kearny Christian Academy opened its doors. Each student must pay the matriculation fees of $725 directly to the school. Seniors also pay $150 senior dues directly to the school. These fees are not included in the Discount Tuition Program and must be paid to the school.

Upper Room Christian School is sponsored by Upper Room Christian World Center, a born-again, Spirit-filled, non-denominational church, located at 722 Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, NY. Upper Room Christian School was founded in 1981 by Bishop Anthony D'onofrio and Pastor Samuel R Hashim. The school is registered with the New York State Board of Regents.

 URCS goes from Kindergarten through 12th grade and features a full-day kindergarten program; a developmental elementary school and professional, caring Christian teachers in a Christ-centered enviornment. Upper Room Christian School offers daily Bible/Devotional classes to all students; a weekly Chapel Service; specialty classes, including: Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer Education, Driver's Education, Foreign Language Classes, high school Science Labs, Band, Choir and Health. URCS offers college guidance; NYS Regents Exams and both NYS Regents and local diplomas. Upper Room Christian School has an extensive tutoring program and a comprehensive special education program, including district-provided Resource Room for IEP students. URCS accepts International students. Upper Room Christian School features College level math courses as part of a Cooperative Extension Program with St. John's University, as well as several A.P. courses. URCS has after school varsity team sports, such as basketball, baseball, volleyball and cheerleading.

The school also features a hot lunch program, an After-Care program, an on site Dance Academy and private vocal and instrumental lessons in various instruments. URCS also has a dual-enrollment program with Western Suffolk BOCES for high school juniors and seniors, permitting students to take courses and receive certificates in 32 exciting technical fields.
