EWC is an international church located in the heart of NYC in Bronx, NY. Our mission is to win the lost to Christ and make disciples who will carry God’s word from one generation to the next generation.To build strong relationships with God and each other that reflect the love of Jesus Christ and change lives.To display God’s compassion to the less fortunate. (Psalm 41:1-3) EWC is a church made up of members of the Ethiopian diaspora from the greater NYC area. When available, the church distributes fruits and vegetables to community members in need and hosts an annual back to school backpack distribution event for area children in need. Our leader, Pastor Aschalew A. Beyene began serving at Emmanuel Worship Center in August of 2005. Prior to coming to NY, Pastor Aschalew served first as an Assistant and later as an Associate Pastor at All Nation’s Christian Assembly Church for seven years. Pastor Aschalew has earned a Master Degree from North Western Luther Theological Seminary and Pastor has earned a B.A degree from North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pastor Aschalew, his wife Elsa and their three children; Josiah, Bethel and Emmanuel currently reside in Long Island, NY.
