Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow, addressed the nation just days after her husband was murdered on a Utah college campus. Showing incredible strength and resolve during an unbelievably difficult and painful time, Erika made her first public comments since her husband Charlie was assassinated. Watch the short but moving clip to see and listen to her emotional and tear-filled address.

While standing next to an empty seat that was her late husband’s when recording “The Charlie Kirk Show,” Erika stepped forward and spoke to the nation, just days after his murder. During her approximately 17-minute address, she shared some of the grief and sorrow that she and her family have been going through since Charlie’s life was needlessly and violently cut short.

In a particularly touching, but gut-wrenching moment, she mentioned how she answered her young daughter, who asked about her father’s whereabouts.

“When I got home last night, Gigi, our daughter, ran into our, my arms, and I talked to her, and she said, ‘Mommy, I missed you,’” she recalled. “I said, ‘I missed you too, baby.’ She goes, ‘Where’s Daddy?’ What do you tell a 3-year-old? She’s three. I said, ‘Baby, Daddy loves you so much. Don’t you worry, he’s on a work trip with Jesus so he can afford your blueberry budget.’”

I cannot imagine the immense pain and heartache involved in having to tell a young child that their father will never be coming home again.

In addition to talking about the obvious pain and hurt that she and her family are going through, Erika also thanked those who have shown her love and compassion in the days following her husband’s murder. She also specifically mentioned Vice President J.D. Vance and President Donald Trump in her address.

Our prayers and deepest sympathies are with the Kirk family as they navigate their way through this deep, dark valley.

Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
