Rest in Him, His ways, His truth, and his presence, trusting that he is strengthening your faith so you can stand firm no matter how fiercely the storm rages.
God remains faithful to us as well, despite our messes, our fear-driven reactions, and despite our sin. But we can avoid so much pain by trusting God to do precisely as He's promised.
Thank you, Lord, that you sent us the Holy Spirit who is our ultimate encourager. Thank you that you command us to encourage one another. Help us, as Christians, to offer that encouragement throughout our lives and everyone we come in contact with. In your precious Name, Amen.
Let it be said of us that we trust the Lord when trials come; that we keep our eyes fixed on Him when those waves are all around us. And let us remember that sometimes God allows those trials for a greater good because His ways are above ours.
Dear Jesus, thank you that you created friendships, that you allow us to have deep, wonderful relationships with others. Help us not to neglect that. Help us all to find a friend that sticks closer than a brother. In your name, Amen.
We can let go of the tendency to put up walls against our brothers and sisters in Christ, and instead extend God's kindness and offer the hope that we have through salvation to those who need it as well as taking hold of it every day for our own repentance and spiritual growth.
Father, you know me better than I know myself. Lord, I'm asking for the transforming power in your Word to show me what needs to be changed. Show me, Lord, how do I remove the small foxes that spoil the vine.
God's Word says as much as it depends on you, dwell at peace with all men. That's not easy. But I know that it's possible because what God calls us to, He can equip us to do that.
Dear Jesus, thank you that you have instructed us in your Word about what it means to be a friend and that you have this verse about not withholding kindness. Help us, Lord, to have open hands of kindness, to extend it to everyone that we possibly can. In Jesus' name, Amen.
One of the best ways God speaks to us is through His Word. It has the power to speak to us differently in each and every season. It has the power to give us wisdom and discernment. It is something we can easily go to when we feel disconnected from our Savior. He's right there in those pages!
The Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel, and if you serve your pastor and his family in that way, I am confident that your gift will be a blessing to them and God will bless you for your generosity.
Remember, you are not alone. Your witness, Jesus, is in heaven testifying on your behalf. I hope that will bring you comfort even in the midst of your trial, and that you will rest more easily in the arms of our precious Savior.
